Spiritual Israel

Greetings, a servant of God, by the grace of God, teaching the truth of God under the authority of Jesus Christ to any who are willing to receive it. (Mat 13:43).

The Holy Bible contains the truth of God by the word of God (Joh 17:17); therefore, God teaches and gives understanding, wisdom, and knowledge to all who pray and seek Him with all the heart (Deu 4:29-31; Jer 29:12,13; Psa 119:2).

Spiritual Israel is the people who belong to God through the new covenant - those who worship Him in spirit and in truth as Christ declared (Jn 4:23,24). They are not defined by lineage but by faith, not by the flesh but by the Spirit, not by the old life but by the new life God gives in His Christ (Ro 2:28,29). The prophets had already begun to reveal this reality long before the Gentiles were grafted in (Romans 11:11-24). They spoke of a remnant preserved by God, a people circumcised in heart, a community marked by truth, righteousness, and covenant loyalty. Spiritual Israel is therefore the continuation of what God promised: a people formed by His Spirit, gathered under His wings, and living out the worship He desires — inward, sincere, obedient, and true.

Prophetic Gems Anticipating Spiritual Israel

Long before Christ revealed worship in spirit and in truth, the prophets were already describing a people transformed from within - a remnant preserved by God, a community marked not by lineage but by repentance, heart‑obedience, Spirit‑renewal, and covenant loyalty. These passages form the Old Testament foundation for what the apostles later call the true circumcision, the Israel of God, and the children of promise.

The Scattering and the Return: A Whole Heart in the Spiritual Wilderness

Deu 30:1 And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,

Deu 30:2 And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

Deu 30:3 That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.

Deu 30:4 If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:

Deu 30:5 And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.

Deu 30:6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

Moses describes a future falling away in which God’s people would be scattered among the nations, carrying the weight of the blessings and curses that follow obedience and disobedience (Deut 30:1). Yet even in that dispersion, God promises that when they remember His words and turn to Him with a whole heart, He will gather them, restore them, and bring them back under His care (Deut 30:2–4). He declares that He Himself will circumcise their hearts so they may love Him fully and live in His truth (Deut 30:6). Though spoken to physical Israel in the wilderness, these words echo into the wilderness of the present evil world, revealing God’s enduring mercy to all who call upon Him. The pattern remains: falling away, scattering, remembering, returning, and a heart made new by God. This is the foundation of Spiritual Israel — the people of the new covenant who worship God in spirit and in truth.
